Get ready to witness an extraordinary feat of endurance and determination as swimmer Oleg Kovalchuk takes on the ultimate challenge – a remarkable swim from Madeira Island to the stunning Desertas Islands!
Guided by our SwimMadeira ambassador and Guinness World Record holder @mayrasantosswimmer Oleg's journey promises to be an awe-inspiring testament to human spirit and determination.
It took months of preparation and the big day finally arrived. The crossing will start at 8am in Quinta do Lorde. It will be a 30km crossing along the Atlantic Ocean. The water temperature will be around 24ºC/75ºF and the air temperature will reach 26ºC/78ºF
This exceptional swim will be conducted under the watchful eye of a certified referee from the @associacao_natacao_madeira , ensuring the utmost credibility of this remarkable feat.
